Swansong
There is a little lake in the centre of Weymouth town, on which swim several pairs of swans. One of the pairs built their nest, in the shelter of a floating restaurant on the lake and earlier this year, the female was sitting on a clutch of eggs.
One day as I was walking, I photographed her as she sat and the picture when I brought it home inspired me to create the entire project of SWANSONG CREATIONS.
Swans are significant in many mythological stories and are always deemed to be courageous, loyal and strong. It is even said that the swans last 'song' is its greatest and most beautiful.
There is a famous dancework called Swansong too.
I believe Swansong Creations is my biggest achievement to date and hope you love not only this painting, but the whole concept and all of my designs.
